Adam Roberts
Midwest Correspondent, The Economist
Adam Roberts is the Midwest Correspondent for The Economist and has lived in Chicago since September 2018. He has worked for The Economist since 1998. He was previously European business correspondent based in Paris, South Asia bureau chief in Delhi, online news editor in London, Africa correspondent in Johannesburg and international correspondent based in London. He is the author of several special reports for the publication, on subjects including the American Midwest (2020), India (both in 2012 and 2015), Global Migration and the Nordic countries. He moderates and participates in Economist conferences and debates. He is the author of two books: “India: Superfast, Primetime, Ultimate Nation” (2017); and “The Wonga Coup”, a non-fiction account of a failed mercenary-led coup attempt in Africa (2006).
